Travel objects
As my man is planning to move in, he fond himself thinking about what object, furniture or just stuff in general are important to him and that he wants to move with him. His reflections made me think about those objects surrounding me in my daily life especialy the things I brought back with me from far away lands. Looking at those objects makes me go back in that really special bubble that is experiencing new cultures and day dreaming about past and futur adventures.
I went to Guatemala to see my sister who was doing her master thesis there. I love traveling with my sister. She planned the whole thing and it was perfect. We toasted marshmallow on an active volcano (that went violent in 2010...gasp), enjoy the sun, mangrove boat tour and the black sanded beachs (to be avoid between 11h00 and 15h00). We also did a mini-trip to Honduras to see the magnificient ruins of the city of Còpan.

My fisrt travel (beside USA because it's not really a travel to go there) was going to Dubai/Sharja in the Emirats...during the second Persic gulf war wich was interesting because the light of the desert was more red"ish" due to bombing in Jordan. Arabs are such poets. Anyway, it's during that travel that I found out that I'm more of a "historic, need to walk" traveler. You don't walk in Dubai, you drive at least a Mercedes and historical recreations like going to the desert are regard as dumb....so you're left with shopping and oh boy! do they have shopping malls. Those were mighty impressive. To bad I don't enjoy shopping. Also in Dubai, I catch the most impressive sunburn of my life. My skin was cracking and I could barely walk. I might have develop veins problem. My white as snow canadian skin didn't like the desert sun.
Ps.: That perfume oil is divine. I a l w a y s receive compliments when I use it.

Pékin (Beijing) was the biggest cultural shock I ever had. Sharja and Dubai didn't compare. For the canadian that I am, China is a awful lot of people per square meter. Beside that and a few other culture differences, I had a blast. I mean the Great Wall come on....it's so awesome I cried (and almost puked on it too because I had a major nose bleed in the bus. I was way to excited). If you ever go to the Great Wall, select a non-refurbish section as there is less people and more historic accurate.
I could babble on China for hours so I will shout myself up for now.

11 to12 : week 20
Normal week. It's seems like it's been a long time since I had one.
I received a brand new Iphone 4 for work and, of course I use it to take pictures. I think my 11 to 12 project will get more easy with that little gadget.
The mister didn't seem to have a change of heart regarding the move. I so afraid he's going to change his mind...
There are a few home upgrade I want to do before he moves in, like converting water-heater from mazout to electrical. the mister and I spoke about the heating bill for next winter and we are going to take some measures so that we don't relive the nightmarish couple of weeks I just had.
I took the ferry to a meeting with clients
I rearrange a bit the mudroom...but it still need tonnes of work. I can only apply band-aid for now.
The extra nice weather got me into vegetable garden planning
That's mother nature being a tease and a b**ch. May I have my spring back?
Feels like Christmas...without the food, the love ones and the presents
The snow is melting...again
The house is getting busy again. Here's a quick to-do for the week-end:
- Install new shelves in the kids room for stuff
- Start my seeds (buy the missing varieties)
- Finish framing doors and windows upstairs...all of them, done
- Cook this week menu and freeze ahead
And find out if you need an electrician or a plumber when you want to switch your water-heater from mazout to electrical
